Gurulé Cousins Corner

Biography:

Hello,

I am connected to the "Gurulé Family" through my Great Grandmother, Maria Juliana (Julianita) Gurulé who was born in Taos, New Mexico. She descends from the first Gurulé Family starting with YVON GROLET. She married Louis Michael Kreeger in Trinidad, Colorado. For more than 30 years he served Las Animas County, Colorado, and the city of Trinidad, its county seat, as an officer of the law. They had six children, one son and five daughters. One of their daughters, Pheobe Belle Kreeger, is my Grandmother and she married Fernando (Fred) Silva Sr.

My parents, Fernando (Fred) Silva Jr. and Josephine (Josie) Sandoval were born in Trinidad, Colorado.

I also was born in Trinidad and I am the first of five children born to them. At the start of WWII, our family moved to San Diego, California in March 1942 where I still reside today. At the age between 8-10 years, there were episodes at night when sirens would go off and the search lights illuminated the sky during an air raid signifying that there might be enemy planes flying above. It was my responsibility to gather and care for my younger brothers and sister while my mother was collecting essential equipment for possible evacuation. It was a frightening experience that I will never forget.

Now on the personal side--I married Paul Stanley Kleeber in 1952 in San Diego and together we raised three children, two daughters and one son. I am now retired but worked twenty five years in the Health and Medical field in Geriatrics and Medical Records. I love to wear shorts, enjoy swimming and frolicking in the ocean, dancing, camping and I collect figurines of American Indians, Ducks and Sea Shells. For the last seven years I have been involved with Genealogy and enjoying the thrill of researching my extended family. I am very proud of my Ancestry.

A cousin Gurulé --
Virginia Silva Kleeber
