BISCOCHITOS--SPANISH COOKIES
Ingredients
2 cups sugar | 4 cups flour |
1 cup lard or margarine | May flavor with 1 Tablespoon of either wine, whiskey or vanilla |
2 eggs |
2 tsp baking powder |
1/2 tsp salt | |
1 tsp cinnamon | (use Anise at your choice) |
Instructions
First cream sugar and lard, add eggs, cinnamon and beat them until smooth --- Add flavoring (your choice) -- Then add the dry ingredients and mix with small amounts of cold water until dough is stiff -- Roll out and cut with cookie cutter
Mix sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle on top of cookies -- bake till brown --- 350 or 400 degrees (depending on your oven)This recipe from Grandma approximately in the year 1949
